Proper test-taking strategies can help you manage your time, review your options carefully and make informed choices.

Key Strategies for Success

Slash the Trash:

Read all of the choices. Eliminate any choices you know for sure are wrong. Place a question mark beside the options you want to consider, then select the best answer from what remains.

Jail the Details:

Highlight, underline, or circle key details and keywords directly in the questions.

Be Slick and Predict:

Predict the answer before reading the options, then select the choice that is closest to your prediction.

Plug It In:

Read all answer choices and test each one to see if it fits. Ask yourself: Does this make sense?

Tick, Tock... Mind the Clock:

Do not stay stuck on a single question. Take your best educated guess and move on. Make a note of the question so you can return to it if you have remaining time.
